Your experience is almost identical to mine. A Dell Precision T5500 workstation with the Quadro NVS 295 graphics card. I&amp;#39;ve had the machine for years...recently it just randomly will warp out (hard to explain the graphics) and then totally lock. Power cycle is the only recourse. This seems to happen totally randomly...although I was convinced it was related to the mouse as it always seemed to get triggered with mouse movements. I no longer am sure of that. Dell sent me a new graphics card. Seemed to be OK for about a week, then it is back. DELL diagnostics show no issues, so it must be firmware or software. I have tried the DELL and NVIDIA drivers with no luck. The DELL guy tried to convince me to get a better video card because I am using &amp;quot;serious EDA software&amp;quot;. I suspect they have no clue. Here&amp;#39;s hoping this fix works. Will post my experience after I have tried it out.</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/11467244/883889213705241742/comments/default/3279198047360456636'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/11467244/883889213705241742/comments/default/3279198047360456636'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://anotherlab.rajapet.net/2011/02/how-i-patched-dell-workstation-with.html?showComment=1325796884066#c3279198047360456636' title=''/><author><name>Anonymous</name><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img1.blogblog.com/img/blank.gif'/></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://anotherlab.rajapet.net/2011/02/how-i-patched-dell-workstation-with.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11467244.post-883889213705241742' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/11467244/posts/default/883889213705241742' type='text/html'/><gd:extendedProperty xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' name='blogger.itemClass' value='pid-1177976031'/></entry></feed>
